After years of designing this character, and finally defending my thesis, I can proudly post this onto my socials!
Nova (formerly Yué), had gone through her very first ASU (character redesign)!
I've been working on this design since December 2020, so I'm happy to finally set her free, fully redesigned and ready to give her more art related to League of Legends. She's now known as Selena, named after the Greek Goddess of the moon, contrary to Diana, who was named after the Roman Goddess of the moon.
Along side this character, I've designed a new bunny, Vega, who picks up design traits from Nova, with a more animalistic body compared to Selena.
Nova is going nowhere of course, and the name will be given to a new character that's a split off of Selena's previous concept art. I will be fully intending on giving these two (along with Nova's new design) a full League of Legends experience where they'll be granted an in game view along with ability icons and VFX, fully rendered splasharts and skins (along with a new skinline that I've been thinking of creating).
Now that Riot Games has released Aurora, I'd like to express my disappointment with her design and I believe Riot should have done more experimenting with her design and concept. This character design book is an example of the route Riot Games could have taken to design their character and how bunny aspects could have been pushed in a bunny inspired champion, especially in a high fantasy world like League of Legends.
During Selena's Nova stage, and her final stages of the proces, her design has been influenced by the region of Mt. Targon.
Vega's design has been inspired by the Inuit tribe and the region of Freljord.
